Can i write single files into a DVD larger than 4 Gb? Do i have to use UDF for this? I read Joliet supports maximum 4 Gb, what about UDF?

UDF supports files over 4 GB, up to 16 EiB . Some devices may not be able to handle them though.

UDF v1.50-v2.60 have a rediculously high limit(??Exabytes), so nothing to worry about there.

UDF 1.02, OTOH, because it has to remain compliant with the DVD-Video and DVD-Audio specs, requires that ALL files be <1GB (this is often relaxed when not in the VIDEO_TS or AUDIO_TS zones).

Of course, if you're talking about spec DVD-Video, it HAS to be <1GB, or isn't legal/compliant (and likely unplayable by MOST players).

...too slow on the draw again...
