I have many AVI Files on my computer. I have ruined about 10 DVDs now because when I burn them, they have video but no audio. These AVI files play fine on the computers. In Nero Vision 4, walking through the menu, I choose to "test" the video and play it within Nero and it plays the first 3 seconds with audio and then audio goes out. I have about pinned this issue to Nero Vision, however I was hoping that someone out there could help me with the fix for this. Thank You in Advance for the time and courtesy of helping me out here.

BTW: When burned and played in DVD players, there is no sound what so ever, including the 3 seconds at the beginning.

Why not try AVS2DVD, instead? I don't think many here will put much faith in Nero's ability to re-encode video.

It could simply be that there's something about the audio that Nero and other converters may not like - like VBR audio, for example. Nero 4 is a bit dated, and may not handle things like VBR audio as well as it should.

Install MediaInfo and post what it gives you about one of the AVI files that Nero created and we might be able to tell you what's wrong, but Al Haibara is right that you should find another tool to use as a permanent solution. If I remember correctly, Nero Vision uses AAC audio, which is definitely going to be a problem in almost every DVD player out there.

  4. For making DVD from AVI, use AVStoDVD (free-n-good) as suggested by Ai Haibara,
    or consider buying ConvertXtoDVD.
