Hi, can you help me with this? Is a file recorded using SopCast and every-time I try to convert it to a different format using Freemake Video Converter or any other conversion software it goes in crash. Thanks.

  2. does it play ok in a media player? e.g. VLC, MPCHC ?

it might be the resolution ; most formats work better in multiples of 16 or 8 or possibly 4. 450 isn't evenly divisible by 16 or 8 or 4

you can try cropping or resizing, or record a more standard resolution next time

It plays well in VLC, KMplayer, PotPlayer - in Windows Media Player 12 but with hiccups. The only workaround I found is to play it and at the same time to record it using PotPlayer, to a different format (MKV, AVI , etc..)

  4. 1. extension should be .ts or .m2ts for 'Format : MPEG-TS'
    2. if it plays well in VLC and MPlayer you could use vlc or mplayer to remux it to another format
    3. if it plays well in WMP and you install Haalis Media Splitter you could remux it to mkv or mp4 with GDSMux

Sounds like the file itself is corrupted - not enough to stop a robust player, but enough to stop it being easily re-encoded.

If VLC plays it then you could try the built in transcoder : http://wiki.videolan.org/Transcode
