Having trouble getting mkv to mpeg2 with FAVC

I think I figured it out.

I have been trying FAVC but it just crashes with unhandled exception An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format it says. I am running windows 7 64bit and have tried using compatibility mode on FAVC for win XP SP3.

I don't know what is going on is there another easy way to get a DVD made using free tools that wont interlace the final output?

unless you have ntsc film source dvd is 29.97 interlaced. the only other option is 23.97 with 3:2 pulldown.

maybe try avstodvd.
