I am trying to connect a PC to a Samsung Solstice 2 cell phone. Samsung USB drivers are installed. Windows Xp and 7 report Device Not Recognized--error Code 43. Can anyone answer why a generic USB-A to micro USB-B cable does not work with the Samsung cell phone?
Pin 4 is open on a generic micro USB-B plug. Is there something special about pin 4 on a Samsung cable?

Do you have the Samsung software? My Motorola needed some sort of SYNC software.

Yes, installing their New PC Studio also installs the USB drivers. I'll likely be exchanging the phone. Thought that I'd ask around first.
