I am using my AverMedia to capture TV and the output to MPEG-2 is producing rather low audio. The other outputs do not produce the low audio. I would like to use MPEG-2 because it is easy to remove the commercials in VideoReDo. Is there any suggestions on how to fix my audio issue? Thanks.

Capture TV from an analog feed of some kind, or over the air digital ATSC? If it's over the air,
the capture merely saves the incoming digital feed. If it's analog and the card is doing the conversion, look to see
if there is anything in the capture utility related to audio adjustment. If not, you'll have to re-encode the audio after the fact.

I think your only option is to amplify the audio after the fact, unless you can find an option on the sat box to boost the volume.

I do find it interesting that you say AVI is louder... For me it's quite low even with AVI, but that's just because the source has a large dynamic range.
