I'm using Pinnacle 15 and when I load a video file, either AVI MPEG MOV, it is full size. But when I drag it down into the video section of my project a strip appears top and bottom.
My Format setting was "Take from 1st clip added to Project" and I've tried all the custom formats... PAL Std etc.
What am I doing wrong?

Nothing. Your video is wider then your project settings and it's letterboxing.
