yes you can do this in any decent video editor e.g. sony vegas , adobe premiere
the basic technique is to keyframe the position and scale
you can search google / youtube for video tutorials, there should be hundreds if not thousands. Use search terms are "ken burns effect" , "photo panning" with the software you're using like "sony vegas" -
Hi Thanks for the tip!
I have read the tutorials how to make to one photo the pan and crop, but if I have about 30 images.. I have to repeat all the events of pan and crop to each image, or theres a method to make all the same pan and crop motion?
Thanks. -
Repeating the affect (effect?) may be possible, but the directions on HOW will be different for every program.
Tell us which one you're using and someone can offer help.
Also, you probably don't want the exact same pan/zoom on each picture. It's monotonous and repeating the zooming in on a spot where there's a face in one picture may cause you to zoom in on something embarrassing on the next picture. -
Why don't you approach this as an opportunity, rather than a chore?
What they're trying to teach you is how to make a simple slideshow into something more polished and interesting via basic animation. The speed, direction, amount of crop, transition, etc. all have an impact on the final product.
I'm sure the teacher will be looking for creativity, not efficiency. Why don't you try adding a very slight rotation too? And get an "A". -
That video looks like it was made with Picasa using the pan and zoom transition style.
