Hi
I have several .avis with .srt subtitles and was wondering if the Philips DVP3560 will be able to play the videos as well as the subs.
Thanks.

All of my Philips DVD players in the past always played .srt sub files well with no problem. As long as it can play the video file, and the .srt has the same name as the .avi file, it should work.

Note that Philips players do NOT support all possible subtitle character sets. If your subtitles are in English, then you should be fine. Most Western European languages should also be supported but some accent marked letters may not show up correctly. Eastern European languages that use the Latin alphabet may be OK or may also have problems with some accent marked letters. Cyrillic (CP-1251) is generally supported on players sold in North America and possibly Europe but not necessarily in other parts of the world. All other character sets are a big if on support and it just depends on where you bought the player and what the character set is. Support for Arabic and Hebrew, just as examples, is almost impossible to find.
