Hi,
I already joined and convert it to SVCD, but now I have problems cutting them (3,47GB).
TMPGEnc failed me; it freezez like sh*t all the time (this doesnt happen if Im editing VCD).
Any other suggestions to cut SVCD beside TMPGenc and M2-Edit? -
Why did you joing them first if you were only going to cut them again after conversion? Just convert each part by itself. Each 700meg Divx will likely take two CDs as a VCD/SVCD. Use the Source Range selection under Advanced settings to select the start and end point for each disk. So first 700meg file, load and select first half and encode. Select second half and encode. Then repeat with each 700meg file. No joining, no splitting.

Mordant,
Mostly because I want to avoid problems with sound going out of sync and so that they have the same bitrate.
And the original file (Lord of The Rings) is 4CD's for (S)VCD.
If I convert each 1 of them seperatly it would take me 6CD's :-? -
The Lord Of The Rings 4CD SVCD DVDrip is 4 CDs because of the bitrate chosen. It also looks great because of that, and because it came direct from DVD source.
They went for about 45 minutes on each CD. You can get up to 55 with 2pass VBR at a decent quality. You could try for 60min on a CD if you were using CCE.
Step 1, you should have simply downloaded the 4 CD SVCD version if you were going to convert it anyway. Since you have the Divx already I don't suppose you want to do that.
I don't think I'm clear on what you are doing and why...I don't see why the sound would go out of sync if you didn't join them...more likely to have trouble with that by joining them. And the bitrate can be whatever you want it to be. If you use 2 pass VBR they aren't really going to be the same bitrate anyway, they will just have the same average bitrate.
How much time is on each Divx file? Its a three hour movie, so 60min on each? If so try using DVD2SVCD's AVI conversion setting and shoot for getting that 60min on one SVCD. -
The newer versions of DVD2SVCD have an AVI2SVCD setting. With CCE as you encoder you can do 5 pass multipass encoding. This should allow you to fit 60min on one SVCD with good quality. Since you are working from an AVI you should choose 16:9 as your source aspect ratio, this should keep the letterbox format. 5 passes will take a long time...well, depends on your system and your idea of a long time. Will likely take about as long as it would for you to do 2 pass with TMPGenc.
...also, converting everything might take just as long as downloading the 4 disc SVCD =) -
So ur saying that I can better convert it all over again using dvd2svcd?
Maybe I'll give it a try....
I let you know if it works
I dont know how long it will take i run Pentium 4, 1500mhz..
Maybe ur right about downloding is faster and all, but this way I will learn more about "the digital world" !!whhahahahahahha
