I have been downloading divx files, the video is in wide screen but the autor of the file cuts the black space out of the top and bottom of the video. So when I convert it into MPG, it streaches it to fit 480x480. How can I convert it while keeping the ratios the same. I have tried lots of things....so I need a for sure answer.

Easy..... im assuming you are using tmpgenc to get the files to mpeg (if you arent, you should) go under settings then click the advanced tab then choose "full screen (keep aspect ratio)" under video arrange method.
Should fix the prob.
