Hi , i basically just need the sound from some AVI and MPG files , which program can i use to just strip out the sound and for it to leave me a MP3 ? ideally a program that will let me also set the quality as i dont want the mp3 to be big , medium quality would be fine.

Use a demultiplexer. Like the very basic Pazera Free Audio Extractor.

p.s , i have some mp3 files that i'd like to reduce in Size/space , do you know of a good batch type program for running a whole load of mp3 files through ? leaving me with all the processed files and originals intact.

FormatFactory is one I use regularly (freeware). It does everything.
Read the description on here on videohelp before you download.
Warning! Format Factory installs K-Lite Codec pack that might cause problems with other video software on your computer.Last edited by transporterfan; 28th Feb 2011 at 11:25.

foobar2000
dBpoweramp
CDEx
Can all do batch audio conversions.
