  1. I want to start capturing AVI files at maximum quality which I will with convert to MPEG2 with TMPEGenc and burn to DVD. I will be capturing PAL video from live broadcasts and also S-VHS tapes.

My question is, which settings should I use (resolution, audio, etc.)? I own an ATI All In Wonder 128 ifitmakes any difference.

I would normally capture audio at 44.1KHz but I heard somewhere that DVDs use 48 KHz, so I don't want to get the wrong audio frequency!

Also, I'm a little unsure about interlacing. I don't want to lose any interlace information when I capture/convert to mpeg2. How do I make sure there's no merging of frames and I get the full 50fps?

Finally, I'm not very clued up about aspect ratios. Do I need to use one resolution for 16:9 and another fo 4:3, or do both these aspect ratios use the same resolution only stretched out?

    Please help!
