Use GIMP (or any image editor you like), prepare background as you wish (i would resize image to 1920x1080 with distorted aspect and put on top source image resized to 1080 lines with proper aspect and apply to this Gaussian blur with radius accordingly to expected result after this i would export image as new background that can be used as second source to ffmpeg). This is best approach IMHO as i find performing similar steps in ffmpeg only inefficient.

but I need to do this in batch
does exist a way to generate a BMP or TGA image, ready to use? one click mode? -
at the moment I need to generate only a TGA from any source image file that is in any aspect ratio, my target is to get a blurred TGA backdrop of the source that realistically reflects the source and is 1920x1080 16:9 aspect ratio
