I have been trying to open AVI file, in order to converte it to svcd formate, the file had been captured using adobe premiere 6.0.
I had tried to change the enviroment setting as recommended by vcdhelp, i had also installed the latest divx (i think it is version 5).
what else i should look for?
pls help

Click right hand mouse button on AVI select properties. This shows the type of codec used, no have a look to see if you have it installed. Control Panel > Multi Media > devices > video compression -
im running on windows xp,.. when i right click the avi file and select properties, i ger video clip, opens with windows media player.
and in the control panel i do not have the choice of selecting multimedia,..
thanks for the help and excuse my newbie questions
