Hi!
I've recorded a TS stream with my DVB-S receiver.
Then I've demuxed this TS file with ProjectX and got now these files:
*.m2v
*.ac3
*.mp2
Now my question:
Is it possible to compress these data files further, e.g. using h.264 codec?
At the end I want to have a video file that can be easily played with a media player that supports the used video codec and that takes less disk space.
Can you please help me?
According to MediaInfo, the video file is
MPEG2 with 720x576, 25000 FPS
Is it possible to apply the approach for SD video streams also for HD video streams?
THX

720x576/25 looks like a DVD or maybe a digital broadcast.
You can compress the m2v (Mpeg2) to divx/xvid/h.264 to specs your media player will accept. Then remux with the audio.
HD TS broadcast streams are usually MPeg2 in ATSC/DVB but for DVB h.264 is also used in some areas.Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.
