  1. My first time ever in having a problem; here is the error message I'm getting

    Version: SVCD2DVD 2.5
    Build: 2.5.5030.0
    Type: System.AccessViolationException
    Source: SVCD2DVD
Message: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.
    InnerException:

Had tried rebooting my system to see if it freed up memory but the same error message. The error happens as it starts to create the Titleset. I'm running W7 and have 4 gigs of ram with plenty of HD space available.

    Any advise

Check the name you are using for the file and make sure there are no odd characters or spaces in it.
Check the locations that SVCD2DVD is storing the output file and using for temp files. If nothing unusual, I'd try uninstalling, then reinstalling SVCD2DVD.
The program seems to be trying to use a RAM address that's incorrect. It's possible you have some sort of registry corruption and that may reset it.
If you get the same problem again, you might want to try a RAM testing program like Memtest 86 just to rule out failed RAM as the problem.

EDIT: But I would do what Chrissyboy suggests first.

  4. Thanks for taking the time to respond. Before posting the log, just to let you know, I had ran another conversion to DVD with another file and it had worked fine. So I think it is the file that may be the problem. I am able to view the movie using Nero and with the Windows media player. By the way I had also tried renaming the MP4 extension to an avi extension but it had crashed at the same point.

The log is over 14mb so I show the first part and the end. the middle part repeats itself many, many times

  5. Chrissy, did you see any problem from this log file. I had tried it with Convert X and had no problem converting this file. But, my software of preference is yours.

Looks like the audio was causing an issue (Stream 0.1).... i have a newer build you can try if you like on the file in question.
    SVCD2DVD v2.5, AVI/MPEG/HDTV/AviSynth/h264->DVD, PAL->NTSC conversion.

  7. I do not mind testing a new file if you wish to see if it soves the problem. As I had mentioned this is the software of my choice and it was the one ond only time that this had happened to me.

    Regards
