Combining Mini-DVDs into 1 DVD

I have a ton of mini-dvds (1.4G) with home movies. All have been finalized and have their own menue structure. I want to try to combine the contents of multiple mini-dvds into a single standard DVD. I'd like to retain the native menu structure if possible. Assume I have no DVD burning or ripping software and I'm looking for free software options, to the extent possible.

guifordvdauthor is a freebie to start looking at.

I don't know if it supports exactly what you want to do.

I do know that payware like tmpgenc dvd author allows you to import preexisting dvd folders. I can't remember if it retains the original layout or not. I'm not sure if any do. That would require experimentation. Most if not all software offers trial periods. I would spend some time and download some dvd authoring packages and see if they meet your needs.

Please be aware that what you want may not be technically possible. At worst you would have to redo the chapter layouts upon reauthoring. You can have each disc as a seperate title on the dvd. Then within each title you would have your own chapter layout.

I generally don't do to complex layouts of my dvds I make so I haven't dived into all of the possiblities. Check this link out for more possibilities:

Thanks for the advice. At the moment it appears that to do anything I'll need to rip the mini-dvds onto my hard drive and then use one of the other tools to convert to another format or otherwise create a DVD project, but I cannot even find a program to cleanly bring the various .vob files onto the computer for me to use.

If you want to retain the original you must use dvdremake pro, it can join several dvds. See http://www.dimadsoft.com/dvdremakepro/ht_merge_full.php

And nope, no easy free method to do that.

Or else try vob2mpg to make a single mpg from the dvd, then use free authoring apps as tgpo mentions like guifordvdauthor to make a new dvd.
