What's the quickest/easiest way to cut something from DVD and DivX

Hi. as we all know there are hundreds of tools out there. I need to cut out about 10 to 30 seconds of 120 movies (on DVD and DivX/AVi) and I really don't have time to use full-rippers and hard tools (if you know what I'm talking about). so I really need your help about a nice and easy program which could cut/extract some seconds from movies as fast as it could.

    thanks

Avidemux, open vob or avi, set start and stop, save as vob/mpg or avi. No reconversion so it should go very fast. BUT avidemux might be very buggy and not that easy to start with...

If it's a commercial dvd you either have to have anydvd installed or rip the dvd first.

You can also use DVDFab Passkey in the background to break encryption. It is free while still in beta.

When cutting small sections out of a dvd, I would normally use DVDShrink in ReAuthor mode, or a commercial program called VideoReDo if finer control is needed on the cut point. For avi files, AviDemux has always worked well for me.
