  1. I have a DVD Video folder (VIDEO_TS) on my hard drive. I know that I can use Nero and directly burn a DVD from the
VIDEO_TS folder. However as a test, instead of using Nero to burn the DVD, I will use Nero to make a Nero image on the hard drive. My question is, is there a way to take this Nero image and use Nero (again) and directly burn the DVD? Presently I am burning the DVD from the Nero image in the following way: (but I want to know know if there is a shorter way to do this). I first mount the Nero image with Daemon Tools, then use DVDFab Platinum to make the DVD folder (VIDEO_TS) then use Nero to burn the VIDEO_TS folder to a DVD. I just want to know if there is a way to burn the Nero image directly to make a standard DVD disk (omit the Daemon Tools/ DVDFab Platinum steps).

  2. Yes Nero can burn disc images.

In Nero Smart Start under "backup" use "Burn Image to Disc" or DVD-ROM ISO profile

  3. Thanks for the info. That will save a lot of hard drive time. If I had know that earlier, I probably wouldn't need to be buying a new hard drive now. My best guess on this situation is that my hard drive is going out, and first making the Nero image (and then burn to DVD) was giving me a better chance on a successful burn. However, now I am even getting a failed "burn" when making Nero image.

  4. To burn a Nero image file to a DVD:
Launch Nero Express Essentials or Smart Start
    Select the Back Up tab
    Select "Copy Disc"
Select "Disc Image or saved project
Record a disk from disk image previously burned onto the hard drive"

    See attached screenshots.

Welcome Richard, but in general we really don't like people digging up old posts to add to them like this. I would really suggest that you NOT do that in the future. It's OK only in those rare instances where someone asks a specific question that no one has ever answered, such as asking for a DVD player unlock code. The question here was already answered, if briefly, by poisondeathray and the original poster was OK with that answer. I am pretty sure that jimdagys long ago burned his disc. In general, if the post is 6 months old or more, just leave it alone unless your answer is really new, critical information that no one has stated before. Many people join the forums simply to post one question and then they quickly leave, NEVER to look at our forums again. So adding unnecessarily to old threads is almost never seen by the original poster anyway. At least you didn't dig up an old thread from years ago simply to say something like "I agree". I hate it when new members do that.
