  1. My laptop is having a very strange problem. I have audio in my clips but no video. I dont think it is a codec issue because even a basic avi not working. I have tired many different files but same result. All the online video's from youtube, hulu and other steaming sites seem to be running absolutely fine. I have tried both Windows MediaPlayer and VLC. Both old and new versions. Installed uninstalled them and retried. Nothing seems to change.I have even tied installing the Media Player Codec Pack but that also did not help. I believe it is some setup that got changed by my toddler banging on the keys but I have not been able to figure it out. Some help please.

Open the videos in GSpot and see what codecs they require.

FYI: Installing a Codec Pack is a good way to make things a whole lot worse. Who suggested that?

  3. Ha.. Ha .. The codec advice was free advice from the web.
I tried GSpot for an avi.. the codec was MJPG. The codecs status says that the codec is installed. When I run the codec test everything comes up alright but no video yet.. I dont believe it is a codec issue. Something else is going on. Thanks for responding
