  1. Hi guys,

I have a normal text (like a headline) and set the visibility options to "visible - normal button", but when I compile the DVD the text is NOT visible in the menu. Can someone tell me how to make the text visible?

by the way, I have the same problem with links, they are just visible when highlighted, but the visibility options are set to "visible - normal button".

    Thanks for your help guys

    Cheers Alex

is the text the actual button and connected to something? buttons change color depending on their state and if the text is the same color as the background in one of the states it wouldn't be visible.

i don't use text as buttons. make a button than add text or put the text adjacent to the button.

  3. No the headline isnīt a button, itīs just the text, and it is red, so it should be good to see on a black background.

ummm, don't set any visibility options. just leave the text alone. drop shadow and bevel are ok to adjust in the right column.

    have fun.

  7. I tried, I removed the old button (like you said) an made a new text, but the same result.

Do I use the wrong tool? I use the text tool on the left side.

the text tool is correct, the only thing i can think of is you have moved the transparency slider in the right column to the right. it should be to the left for no transparency. or have you perhaps put another layer over the text?

Is this a motion menu by chance ? If so, you have to Render Motion, then recompile your menu using the new footage. If I am creating motion menus I do everything - all text and graphics bar the final buttons - in my editor.

  10. @aedipuss: the transparency slider is to the left and there is nothing over the text, there is just the background movie

@guns1inger: I have no idea what you are talking about ..... can you explain how to do this stuff and in what editor?

sorry, but Iīm new and not used to this kind of software.

you may have the movie over the text. click on the text box and then up top left there is a button to click - "bring to front".

Motion menu - using a video clip as the background, not a still.

In DVD Lab when you create a motion menu, any text you add in DLP only appears if you use the Render Motion option to render your background movie with the next text. This creates a new clip (in AVI format, I believe) that you have to re-encode to DVD compliant mpeg-2 so that your text appears. Otherwise you wont see it when you author. Only button overlays don't have to be rendered this way.

Which is why I put all my text onto the video in my video editor, and not DLP.
