sony dvd player dvp-ns67p without picture

my sony dvd player (dvp-ns67p) has no picture. i tried to play a divx dvd and then it didn't show the picture anymore. i tried some different cables and checked all connectors. but it still doesn't work. is it a software problem? or hardware? what should i do?

Check the users guide that should have come with the unit, the problem may be resolved by simply resetting the unit. Meanwhile try hooking it up to another tv. Assuming the audio still works you might try running an opitcal lazer cleaner, if that fails it's likely kicking the bucket.
