MuxMan 0.16.7 will not load an ac3 stereo audio file.. It keeps saying 0 files accepted, 1 file rejected... Any idea what could be the problem?

Found the problem. I was using GoldWave to convert audio to .wav with AC3 codecs. Even though it says AC3 in MediaInfo, it's not a true AC3 audio file. Instead I used MeGUI to convert it to AC3 and it worked.

I want to strangle the person who created MuxMan and put in a bitrate limit. I keep getting that error.

The person that created Muxman created the best muxing engine for DVDs, better even than Scenarist. If you're having problems look elsewhere for the reason, like in the mirror. What error are you getting? What does 'bitrate limit' mean? Buffer underflows? There may be more information in the Muxman log in the root of the C drive.

Or use an inferior authoring app, one like IFOEdit.

Just kidding. I like muxman but it could do w/o that bitrate limit. It gives me an excessive bitrate error when I attempt to add and mux audio tracks that have bitrates over 192 kbps. But it's no biggie, I re-encoded them to 192 kbps.

  9. I author with Muxman and DD 5.1@448 audio all the time, It's not prejudiced against audio with bitrates over 192. If all the assets together (video, audio, subs, plus the muxing overhead) go over 10800kbps at some point, that's when you get buffer underflows and the excess bitrate message. One solution is to reencode the video using a lower max bitrate. If, for example, the max bitrate for the video is 9800kbps, then you might have trouble with audio with a bitrate greater than 192kbps, particularly if the video was encoded using an encoder that doesn't honor the max bitrate set.
