Hi! all. i have mkv movie files with AAC audio file. i managed to extract the audio file from the mkv using txMuxer. However, i need a converter that can convert the AAC file to AC3. any suggestions?

I would open the mkv file in Xvid4PSP, choose mkv for output, select Copy for video and set the audio to ac3. This will encode only the audio and give you an mkv with AC3 as output. It won't copy any subs, but you can use mkvextractGUI and mkvmerge to shift them across later if necessary.

Another solution is to use TFM Audio Tool. Just select the Matroska file, select AC3 as the output and designate the output file to the same location as your original Matroska file. When the conversion is completed, open the original file in Matroska Merge, deselect the AAC stream, add the AC3 stream and merge with a new file name.
