  1. Response in a Q ... to reduce colour bleed was to adjust Chroma noise using Chroma Shift.

The suggestion was to 'zoom' in on a vertical edge on a frame and count pixels, to estimate Hshift needed.

What avi viewer is best used to allow this ? ....... windows media player won't zoom above 200%,
    Vegas won't zoom either
Virtual dub won't zoom (or I can't find option if it does)

assume there is a better avi player I should be using ? anyone care to advise

    PointResize with Avisynth.
Or use Zoom in AvsP editor, which allows up to 400%.

  3. VirtualDub: Right click on one of the panes and select the zoom level -- up to 400 percent. You can also use Windows' Magnifier: Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Accessibility -> Magnifier.

Thanks, Jagabo - I wasn't aware of Windows Magnifier.
It's quite neat, but I was dismayed to find it re-arranged all my carefully placed desktop icons.

  5. in Vista it open up a separate 'magnify window' ... but 16x does not give enough to work out pixel offset.

tried right click in VD ... it does bring up an option to zoom .. up to 100% .. but when I select it , nothing changes on screen ..tried in static and in 'play' mode.
