  1. at the moment i only have a s video cable to connect my pc to my tv. and this cable was working fine when i was using my old tube tv but now since i got my 37 inch lcd hdtv and i connect the s video to it i only get a no signal status (sometimes i get a black screen that flickers).

i retested the cable on my old tv to make sure it wasnt the cable (cable worked fine)

when i first hooked it up i had a connection then i unplugged it and ever since then i havnt been able to get it back.

anyone know how to fix this already tried everything i knew and some stuff from online nothing has worked

ps connection is s-video to s-video

and just my luck happened on my birth day lol

Did you switch the TV to a S-video input? Other than that, turn on the TV first, then the PC. If your TV has other connections, I would try them. S-video is mediocre quality on a 37 inch TV. VGA, DVI or HDMI if your PC's video card supports them would be better.

    And welcome to our forums.

  3. Thanks

and yes the tv is set to s-video.

on the computer it shows that the monitor is being extended since i can stick stuff on the other side but i cant see it on the tv it just say No Signal.

it stopped working when i unplugged it and hooked up vga cables to it on a different computer since the vga cord wasnt long enough to reach with this computer.

i even hooked it up to my non hdtv and it works fine i just plug it in a boom its there.

and when the tv was right out of the box everything was working fine when i plugged it in the very first time.

but if we cant figure it out its all good just ganna spend an arm a leg for a long vga cable lol plus the adaptersince my computer is only duel vgi and s video

It probably isn't an HDTV problem. It is a computer display card problem.

Check the card instructions for TV discovery. Most of them require a reboot of the computer with the TV on.

S-Video will look awful on an HDTV. Use VGA (or DVI-D/HDMI).

You might take a look at Monoprice for cables if S-video doesn't work out. They have 25' VGA cables for less than $8US.
    They ship about anywhere. http://www.monoprice.com/products/subdepartment.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10201
