  2. smtp.comcast.net is only for sending mail with a comcast.net account name. to retrieve mail from a comcast account use mail.comcast.net

mail.comcast.net is my incoming server which works fine

I see the confusion, in my thread title I put can't receive emails, I meant to put can't send them. Sorry for that mix up.

Change server time out to 1 minute and try again.

    Then

You may need to unhide hidden folders option in windows exploer > tools > folder option > view tab ... hidden files and folders to "show" ... apply ... ok

    Next

    1: Close windows mail
2: You need to locate the directory where windows mail stores it's data for inbox, outbox, ect

Normally this is : C:\Users\Your windows user logon name\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail

A Folder with the name of comcast in your case will include such directories as inbox, deleted, sent, ect

3: When found, copy all these folders from here to a safe location elsewhere
4: Once a safe copy has been done ... delete "sent" folder.
5: Then back to windows live mail directory ... and delete "Outbox" folder
5: Try windows mail once again

Windows mail will recreate the missing directories.

If tried everything comcast and microsoft have posted on the net for this issue. I have all the sam boxes checked, numbers used, but still not able to send.

My solution Mozilla Thunderbird, works like a charm, just need to get used it, but works just fine, and very easy to setup account.
