    Hi,

I notices the occasional horizontal corrugated lines on my DVDs recently. This doesn't happen all the time, normally on some fast moving scenes. I create 1000's of DVDs per year for customers, but only notice this effect on some of the DVDs

    I am converting AVI to MPG2 ( I live in a PAL Country )

The AVI file is laid out in Vegas Video 4 and is frame-served by Debugmode Frameserver to Canopus Procoder to make the final mpg2 file.

As far as I'm aware, I have the Field order correct.

I do however use the crop feature in Procoder to trim the 4 sides of the screen, Normally 2 or 4 pixels each side. The reason for cropping is that these AVI files originate from capture 8mm & 16mm Projector film. The edges sometimes need trimming to clean up tiny bits of fluff and other bits etc.

I author the DVD with an older version of TMPGenc DVD author.

Has anybody got any knowledge in regards to this subject please ?

    cheers
    Scott

  2. Improper resizing of interlaced material. Mask the edges instead of cropping and resizing.

    Thanks for your quick reply.

Are you saying that the crop tool in Procoder is causing this effect ?

OK thanks, I'll take the tick off the Scale video button in the crop section in future and see how things turn out.

    cheers
