    I use TMPGenc. Let me strt over.
    1) I downloaded movies in DIVX format; then converted them all to VCD. THen I deleted the DIVX files, and kept the newly created VCD file.
    2) Then I realised that I made a mistake on each VCD file, because it was not being accepted by ADAPTEC EASY CD CREATOR 5 PLATINUM. I found my problem.
    3) I have two choices;
    a) Convert the VCD file to VCD again
    b) Download the DIVX and convert it again.

    What I want to know is if I choose option "a", then will the quality be the same as if I had taken choice "b"? Because choosing choice "a" would be much easier, but I still want the good quality.

    How about trying the mpeg tools in TMPGenc. Go to the Cut/Merge and put the setting on vcd, load in the mpg, and create a new one. Try this. I have had it work on some non-compliant mpegs. If I am not mistaken, it doesn't recompress.

    This should re-clock it for EZ CD CR. Just make sure as he said above to use the VCD Standard template in the drop down box. I know he stated it, but you may not see it easily..

    You could let Easy Cd Creator sort out the problem, you have not said what the problem was, if its something simple, the quality will be ok, anything else and easy cd creator will make a right mess of it.

    Downloading the AVI and converting to Mpeg is going to take you longer.

    Load the "dat" file back into TMPGenc and select a template before you convert, thats the quickest way.

    If it is the MUX rate, then TMPGenc mpeg tools will sort it out quickly.
