    Hello,

I have an WMV file and I would like to play it using my DVD player - Pioneer DV310.

How can I convert it to AVI / DivX / Xvid, in a simple & freeware conversion tool?

I was looking at the convert section, but couldn't find one tool for this.

    Thanks,
    Uriel

Check out Stoik Video Converter (simple converter) or AVIDemux (lots of editing/enhancement filters).

Thanks: I have downloaded STOIK which is very simple to convert.

My original WMV file is 24 minutes & 130MB.

I have tried to convert it to DV / DivX / AVI but I could not succedded playing the file in my Pioneer player DVD.

Which format I would need to use?

    Thanks,
    Uriel

  4. The Pioneer DV310 can play Divx AVI. Be sure not to exceed what the player can handle. Frame sizes over 720x576 for example. Common Divx/DVD player limitations:

Try using divx converter to convert your wmv and see if that plays.

Either DivX or XviD should work. If you're using Stoik, you'll need to set the codec specs under the video "compression options" -- select "advanced" at the botton of the drop-down menu, pick your codec, and make the necessary adjustments (bit rate, etc.).
