  1. I have just burned a VCD and played it on my DVD-player,
this is the first time I have done a VCD. Normally I convert to SVCD.
    But VCD looks great!!

Is there any reason to covert to SVCD instead of VCD, it wpuld save some discīs.

  2. VCD works in alot more players than SVCD and uses less space. But VCD gets really good, if your player will read non-standard VCD's like my Sony 325. Instead of 352x288 I use 720xHHH (HHH being the height of the clipped movie, usually between 320 and 420). In other words I use DVD resolution and my Sony plays it !!! Also I use different bitrates all the way up to 3000 instead of the 1150 standard. Together I get results from my VCD's that are nearly DVD-Quality, fitting any normal movie on 2 CD's. Experiment with your player, try the high resolution and different bitrates and if it works, just forget about SVCD !!
