Hi. I am looking for a portable video recorder or something i could use as one. I have read about devices for ipods and the archos dvr stations for their devices as well as others. As many of you know however, most of these devices record in compressed mpeg4 or similar formats. I am looking for dv or higher quality that i can use to edit with. Is there any portable hard drive capture device that can record videos at the higher quality so they can be transferred to pc/mac for editing in high quality? This would be used for capturing digital and analog video.
Thanks
Mark

DV is roughly 13Gb per hour - portability is a no-no at this filesize - try Canopus products for excellent DV-capture products - alas, non-portable.

Google for “mini dvr3 system”, Small recorder, SD card up to 32Gb, motion detection, car mode,720x528@30fps, small pinhole camera (but you can use other AV sources)...
