  1. Using Pinnacle 1394 care (TI). No problems of any kind with Video Studio 6 or MS Movie Maker.

When I try to capure from my Canon Elura2 MC using DVD Movie Factory, I get an error at 21.5 seconds that the file is Corrupt and cannot be inserted into the Preview strip. Would I like to detete this file. This happens every time at the exact same point.

Anyone have this problem or can suggest some options to work it out?

    Thanks

  2. I had exactly the same problem using a Sony DV camcorder (you should also note that no frames actually get captured at all). Tried everything - nothing worked, contacted Ulead - they declared that my Sony camcorder was not supported - tough! No refund - nothing! Gave up on the product in the end - pity, it could have been very useful!

  3. I had the same problem also with the pass through of my Sony TRV25. You can always capture (or import) the avi (DV) file in a different software and then import that avi (DV) file in Ulead DMF. I use DVIO (type 1 AVI), a freeware program to capture and then import the AVI (DV) file in Ulead DMF. Works for me.

  4. I have the same problem with a Canon ZR40 (in both Win98Se & Win/XP). I ended up downloading the Ulead VS6 trial. Even though you would think that it would have the same problem, the capture works there. I tried contacting Ulead support via their website, and got the typical "it can't be us, it must be something you did wrong; re-install everything" response.

I tried many capture tools, and VS6 seems the simplest to me (wish I could get AVI_IO to capture DV under Win/XP; I'd use it)

  5. Incidentally, ignore the artifacts and other imperfections on the avi file (and even on the mpeg file), they will not show up when you play the DVD on a TV screen. I am not sure why these show up on a computer but they are not really a problem on the finished product.

  6. Sorry I meant DVIO (not AV_IO). I have edited my previous posts accordingly. Incidentally, here is a Microsoft program Amcap that does basically the same thing as DVIO:

  7. I had some problems capturing from a TRV27 to DVD Moviefactory. I 'm using Video Studio 4 and is working fine.

Note: my firewire card is the Dazzle DV-editor and comes with a licensed version of Videostudio 4.
