  1. I used Orbit to download some streaming video. The video downloaded as 10 segments of mp4, and now I want to join them together. I do not want to convert or encode the video. I just want to combine the parts into one video. Below is the Gspot of the part1 of the video. Media Player Classic plays all 10 of these videos perfectly.
    I tried using AVIdemux 2.4 to combine the first 2 parts (took just a few seconds). (See screenshot 2). I tried all options that are circled in red, but the combined video always stuttered or froze in Media Player Classic. ( I also tried Video> Mpeg4 AVC x264 but that started to recode, long time). Then I tried Yamb to join the first 2 parts. It seemed to quickly join ( the file size was equal to the sum of the 2 parts). However, when I played the joined file, the play time was equal to just the first part, and there wasn't any second part.
    Here is the Yamb log:

    Looking at the log, I don't see any reason why the joined file didn't contain both parts.
    If someone could take a look at these 2 files and see if you could join them, I would really appreciate that. If I could join these 2 files, then I probably could join all 10 parts.

    It looks like yamb makes two video tracks for the mp4.

    See https://www.videohelp.com/forum/archive/joining-serveral-files-with-mp4box-results-in-2...s-t369220.html . Same problem. No solution though...

  3. I found this software, Boilsoft Video Joiner 5.32 (see screenshot) that seems to work (join without encoding and play properly with Media Player Classic). I had a previous version of this software, which would not accept these mp4 files. However, this software is not free.
    This software is widely available on the web.
    * Direct stream clone, without re-encode
    * Support join AVI, DivX, Xvid
    * Support join MPEG-1, MPEG-2, VOB
    * Support join ASF, WMV, WMA
    * Support join 3GP(.3gp, .3g2) video files
    * Support join MP4 (.mp4, .m4a, .m4v) files
    * Join video files as many as you want
    * Scramble and rearrange the video clips in the sequence that you exactly desire.
    * Very User-friendly interface.
    My question is: Is there a free software that will join these mp4 files? It seems to me that if there is pay software, there should also be free software.

    Hey,

    So I was having the same issues when I came across this thread. I did a lot of searching and found over and over again people saying to YAMB. Since the 2.1 beta wasn't working and I saw some success stories with version 1.6, I went back and tried 1.6. Worked GREAT!

    So give Yamb 1.6 a try and see if that doesn't do the trick for ya.

    Hope this helps!

  5. PROBLEM SOLVED. Yes it does help. Confirmed that free software Yamb 1.6 works to join the posted mp4 files http://rapidshare.com/files/316210556/New.rar
    (Yamb 2.1beta does not work).
