  1. Hello,

I have 10 mp4 files encoded in h.264 with handbrake at 1280x720p at 3700kb/s each and AAC stereo. Each file is around 1.5GB and around 50 minutes long.

I want to join them all together to make one big file.

I am using Quicktime Pro 7. What I do is copy the second file into the first, then the third into that one, etc.. but when I get to the 7th file, it will no longer let me paste it into the resulting previous concatenation. It basically stops at 5h52mn (around 8.9GB).

I have used two methods in QT Pro 7 which are the Copy/Paste and then I tried Copy/Add to Movie, and both came with the same negative results.

Furthermore I have tried joining the same files with Quicktime Pro 7 on both my Mac OS X 10.6 and Windows XP SP3.

I have also tried YAMB on Windows XP SP3 and constantly get errors.

Any ideas or help would be really appreciated.

    Thank you.

Try avidemux, file->open and then file->append. Under video and audio choose copy. Save as a new mp4.

And what is the error messages in yamb / mp4box ?

  3. Thank you Baldrick. This is the furthest progress I have made in 10 days.

AVIdemux was able to concatenate all 10 files.

Though, I have been having a few issues with the resulting final video.

There has been a problem with playback, it is slightly choppy, playing at around 18fps instead of 24. Also, the audio is out of sync.

AVIDemux asks as I import my h.264 mp4 that if the file uses b-frames reference it might lead to a crash or stuttering. and that if I use another mode it will be safe but I will lose frame accuracy. I have to choose Yes or No.

I have tried both methods saying Yes and No.

When I say Yes, it just adds the file.

When I say No, It asks me if I want to rebuilt the frames. If I say Yes, it crashes, so I just say No.

Both resulting final files (from answering Yes and No to the first question) behave the same exact way (slightly choppy video and out of sync audio).

Would you have any ideas? Is there another application similar to this that can help?

As for YAMB, it would aggregate all the files saying, creating iso image and when it gets to creating final file, it will just say "Yamb encountered an unexpected error".

I thought I might include the Log report for YAMB:
