  1. I have a Dynalink Magic Tview capture card and am using WinXP.

When I use my software that came with it (Tview for Windows 2000), the sound works fine. (so all my connections must be fine)

When I use Vdub v1.4.... there is NO SOUND. I have read the 'How to Capture' help me on this site.... and none of the troubleshooting options help. There is also no sound when I use Ulead's Video Capture v6.0

    What can I try?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  2. I worked on that same problem off and on for several months and just got it working 2 nights ago.

First, your audio MUST come straight from the source and into your sound card. DO NOT run it thru the capture card. I repeat DO NOT run it thru your capture card. This was my problem.

Next, go to your recording properties. Do this by double clicking on your "Volume" icon on the taskbar or go to "sounds" in the control panel. After you get that open then go to "Options" and then "Properties". Change the button from Playback to Recording and then make sure your "Line IN" is selected. After that click OK. Now make sure that you select "Line In" underneath the slider bar for volume.

That should do it. As a note, I had to go to Radio Shack to get 2 adapters in order for me to be able to go straight to the sound card. You may have to do the same.

  3. I've had a similar problem with VirtualDUB but not the same.

When I capture AVI's using HuffyUV and multisegmenting "it like cuts the audio out of the capture at the end" usually like the last 10 mins. its varies sometimes, its like sometimes only the last minute of the 2048MB segment.

    using:
    Windows98 / VirtualDUB 1.4.8
    AMD Duron 800Mhz
    Sis 730 Graphics Card
    30 gig HD
    112MB Ram
    ATI TV Wonder VE
