    Hi all,

I have a seasonal DVD, and I want back it up in my comp.
The problem is that, when I try to rip one disk, which has 4 episodes, by using DVD Decrypter, it just shows one big chunk of file with the duration of the 4 episodes (I have switched the mode to IFO by this point).

By the way, I have also tried using DVD Shrink, but it still shows one big chunk of file without any separation of episodes.

Should I just rip it using DVD Decrypter?
If yes, what should I do afterwards?

Thanks for the prompt reply, guys.

The 'One Big Chunk' must be broken into Chapters so that you can skip between episodes.

I would try (But I'm a bit of a noob myself so I may be wrong or a better answer may come along shortly) Use DVD Decrypter and Select Read Mode (IFO) Go into the settings and on the IFO Mode Tab select split by Chapters. This will give you the decrypted files as Vob files broken into chapters.

Or as I do use VOB2MPG which will work on a decrypted files (reading the IFO File) This will give you the chapters in mpg.

hoping I've posted my first help.

I have tried that one, but it still does not show the number of chapters in the DVD (just show the one big chunk all the time)

Have you used DVDFAB to copy the dvd to your HD?

  5. If the episodes are all part of the same title, then you decrypt by chapters. With 20 chapters and 4 episodes, for example, each episode takes up 5 chapters. If there's an extra chapter at the end (21 in this example), ignore it. I don't quite understand your statement:

Select the chapters you want and deselect the ones you don't want.

Another way around it is to use DVSHrink to manually reauthor the DVD, then move the start and end points of the episode y ou are working on and save that as the DVD

It will then save that specific episode, then go onto the next one, long winded but it works

Or load the DVD into a DVD authoring package and do the same via that package
