Making a DVD-Readable

Sorry if this is the wrong forum, but I looked at the DVD Ripping forum description and this doesn't seem to fit into that category.

Well I have a PS2 + mod-chip, and was wondering whether it is possible to play an avi movie that I have over the PS2? Anyway at all.

I herd that you can convert avis to dvd compatible formats. But I don't have a DVD burner. Is it possible (if the movie is relatively short lets say only takes up 600mbs, to actually burn it like a dvd but onto a cd-r?

I hope this is somewhat understandable.

dvd on cd is www.vcdhelp.com/minidvd.htm
and it won't work on most players including ps2.

So there is absolutely no way at all to get it to work on a ps2? Even with a mod chip?
