  1. Apologies in advance if this is a dumb question. I just got a MICCA-HD media player with usb and SD inputs; it plays everything I plug into it including a hard drive. But there are some instances where I'd like to be able to burn my media files to a DVD as data (as I also have a dvd player in another room that plays divx from discs). But the MICCA media player won't read off a disc in my portable dvd drive, even though it will read just fine from an actual hard drive. I'm assuming it's something to do with a hard drive being bootable and the dvd isn't, so is there anything I can add to my discs in future to make them readable to a media player such as this? In other words, can I make the external dvd drive appear as if it were an external hard drive so that the media player will read off it? Thanks for any advice.

You can't add anything to the dvd media to get it to work. You probably need a custom firmware to get it to work, check in http://forum.miccastore.com/index.php/board,3.0.html?PHPSESSID=0a2a4847f4c9a94adbdf1cdd3e68c0d3

  3. The media player doesn't support the ISO/UDF/Joliet file system used on optical discs.

  4. Thanks, I've since realized that I would need to format the discs as FAT32 or NTFS, which isn't feasible for a dvdr.
