What do I do with a non-vcd compliant dat file that I want to burn to a compliant vcd 2.0? Apparently the bit rates are off or something like that, and the only thing I can think of is to use tmpg to re-encode it, but that can't load a dat file directly, and I can't seem to convert the dat to mpg which tmpg can read. Help! Thanks.

Look in the tools section. Vcdgear will convert dat files to mpg.

the problem is, vcdgear doesn't recognize the dat file. nothing recognizes the dat file except windows mp, which plays it just fine.
