    Hi fellas,

I imported a bunch of pre-existing footage that's in 4:3 format. I'd like to be able to export this with the same 4:3 aspect ratio. When I export to QT, and open it, the video is 4:3, but the player is setup for 16:9. I've never done 4:3 before. Is there some kind of setting I need to change on the timeline? If so, what would that be?

    Thanks in advance!

THe Quicktime Player takes it's sizing from the aspect ratio
of your exported video from Final Cut. IF it is sizing to 16:9,
its because the exported video was flagged to be 16:9
(letterboxing your 4:3 video to make it appear 16:9).

The setting is preset in your Final Cut Preferences,
before you create a New Project / Sequence.

Open Final Cut, create new Project, Under Preferences, General Tab,
select the format of the Sequence to be used, either 16:9 or 4;3.

Uh oh.. what if I already created the project? Any way to change it now? Just asking because I'm not at home with my Mac to try this yet.

    Thanks.

You'd have to create a new Project, and move/reimport the media
and re-create the project from scratch( sure way) or you
could try to export it again from FCP as Quicktime to an Anamorphic
codec setting ( like DV NTSC 48khz Anamorphic) ( not entirely sure way)
and see if that fixes it....
