nero 5/audio sync problems

when i burn a xvcd with nero,the audio is sometimes out of sync.if you search and play it comes back into sync then goes out again.it does not do this every time i do a test burn so it is quite annoying.ive done a succesful xvcd using cq_vbr100 set to 3kb max and it played lovely on my sony dvd,other times i have tried a standard vcd template and the sound has been out of sync,nothing seems to be consistent.the sync is ok when playing with windows media player so could the problem lie with the burning process.ive tried 1x 2x 4x and still the same,also tried on friends dvd and also out of sync.any help appreciated as i want to burn a whole movie soon and will not be impressed if the audio is out of sync after spending several hours creating it.
