  1. I understand that there is a patch or trick regarding the "scandata.dat" file used in SVCD burns that effects the ff/fr modes when played in a DVD player. When I ff in a Apex 660 it actually goes backward

    Thanks

I presume you burn with Nero. For some odd reason Nero doesn't believe you need a file called SCANDATA.DAT in the EXT directory. You can however make it yourself - either with or without the Go To/Search facility enabled.

If your standalone DVD Player needs a SCANDATA.DAT (some actually don't) and you press FF it will go backwards.

If you need more help on this subject do a search on Keyword "SCANDATA.DAT"

  3. Yes I was using Nero and the scandata.dat file was missing. I ended up using VCDImagerGUI and CDRWIN to burn the SVCD. Everything seems to be working OK now. The FF/FRWD as well as the GOTO feature

Thank you, I appreciate the help

I finded the same with VCDImager, i was able to GOTO and also the "Remaining Time" was displayed correctly. It also seem to depend what encoded you've used as well and what is the source format (could it be so?) of the video material is.
