I just started using Sony Vegas Movie Studio. I was able to bring in the video I captured with my Sony DCR-SR85 and edit and create the movie. But when I rendered the movie, the audio and video stared ok for about 2 minutes and then the audio became choppy, start and stop. But video is fine. Any one had this problem and was able to solve this? I have Windows XP Home with Dell XPS 400 (Intel Dual Core 2.8GHz Processor). I have about 40 GB free space and rendered video is only 1GB.

    Thanks for your help

What are your export encode settings? "Render as"?

  4. Why are you using MPEG1?

How are you playing this back (ie. what software? if you try another software player like VLC, or KMplayer what happens)?

I have tried both VLC and Windows media player, same result. Are there any better formats to use. I want to eventually burn DVD to play on the DVD player on a TV. If there are better formats I can render as, please let me know. Thank you very much for replying to my post.

Your camcorder is MPeg2. Normal for DVD is MPeg2. There should be a default for DVD under "Render As".

But VCD should require minimal hardware and player.
