    Hello!

I have a problem with my titles on my Dvd after the authoring.
I use Womble DVD wizard to work with my video, i add titles and stuff. The files are in 16:9. Then I export and burn the project on a DVD-R, i read it on my TV and all the titles (in the lower part of the sreen) are "cut".
I think it is because of a kind of zoom, or a problem with 16:9 - 4:3 conflict between the file and the tv.

If you have any idea please let me know.
    Thank you!

It's probably because of overscan. Try search for overscan for more information.

The problem is with your TV, as the article explains. You can either adjust the TV to have less overscan; buy a new, non-CRT TV; or go to the hassle of resizing your vids to compensate for the TV's overscan (so that if you ever upgrade to a better TV, all of that work will now result in vids with black borders).

You will have to learn how to judge for yourself, because Womble doesn't have titlesafe/actionsafe guides

    RE: Adobe's "About title-safe and action-safe zones"

The Adobe page explains the industry respected "safe title" zones, the reasons they are necessary and shows all the calculations. Whether Womble has a grid or not you can mark your own template on your computer monitor and keep titles within that space.

    Yep thank you.
I just put the titles a little bit above the original position.

I will try to burn and to test on the TV.

But i have another question. If i read that DVD on a 16:9 TV (like all the flat LCD one'S), my titles will have a very high position on the screen isn't it?

If yes, should i burn 2DVDs, 1 with the "low" titles and 1 with the "high" titles? (Just to be able to have the titles in a nice position on every TVs?)

Thank you all for you help and advices.

If you are creating 16:9 titles then put them just high enough to be seen on a 16:9 TV. You don't have to worry on a 4:3 TV because the player will add black bars top and bottom and your titles will be well clear of the overscan area

Here's an example when broadcast standard 16:9 tiltle safe is used. Titles are positioned for the worst case which is overscanned 4:3.

Here is the uncropped version. HDTV sets will overscan this about 5-7%

Here is how that looks on an overscanned 4:3 standard TV.
