I was considering that SXVCD and DVD use the same resolution.
So, shouldn't it be convenient to use an SXVCD format with higher resolution the normal SVCD and "normal" SVCD Kb/s rate to help the encoder engine in the encoding process?
The idea is if working with same frame dimension should speed up considerably the work.
Has the idea an algorithmic feedback ?

First off XSVCD may have any resolution. I guess you mean 720x480/576. Then you do not need to resize--->faster encoding.
But you have to encode a 50% larger framesize---->slower encoding.
At the end dvd to 720x480 xsvcd will take longer than dvd to svcd.
Also it is a bad idea to use D1 resolution without increasing the bitrate.
