I bough a device named EasyCAP. I plug my Playstation 2 to it and i set PAL tv system. My PS2 is PAL and game also. I have very low fps (6~12 fps) and weird color after recording. After i set to SECAM system then all is ok but its black and white colors.

So now my question why i have so low fps on PAL system. Capture looks crappy.

give details of which capture application, how exactly (step by step in detail) you are using it. somenody familiar with your application will be able to help you
pc tweaking is basically turning off every thing else during capture (including unnecessary services running in the background)+enabling dma if not enabled

So you think my pc is the problem? I have EasyCAP dc60 version 2.1c with STK1160 drivers on CD along with Ulead VideoStudio program. In STK1160 settings i dont see TV System PAL 60 maybe that is the problem. Capture works on PAL_B but its low fps and i have slideshow. On SECAM system fps are ok but black and white colors, same on NTSC. Installed drivers from CD, Ulead also, then i pluged playstation 2 directly to EasyCAP. I have set PAL_B (one and only pal on list) and i have colors all is ok but low fps.

    PAL record:

You can notice low fps and little color errors. On preview screen (before capture) is the same.

  7. Don't capture with the Divx codec. Use HuffYUV or an MJPEG encoder instead. If you use MJPEG be sure to set it to interlaced mode. If you must use Divx set it to Encoding Mode: Fastest, Preserve Interlace, 1-pass quality-based, with a quantizer of 3 or 4, Bidirectional Coding Off. That might be fast enough.

Lastly, USB capture devices like that usually only work properly with the software they came with.

    Im using UleadVideoStudio:

Im plug The device and start ulead im chosing capture:

Ulead finding automaticaly device and the lagging screen displaying. No matter what i chose in Format window effect is same.
    http://img91.imageshack.us/my.php?image=beztytuu1qgt.jpg

Im chosing PAL system which causing laggs. When i chose SECAM, screen becomes black and white but with no laggs and recorded movie is ok.

So the problem is lagging signal/source. Tell me if you need more details.

    Yes, from CD with EasyCAP.

  11. Well, the file you posted is 25 fps. If the PS2 is putting out PAL60 that's probably the problem (UVS expecting 25 fps but getting 30 fps. The missing color with NTSC and SECAM also imply this is the problem.). I would test using a true PAL source (sat/cable box, vcr) and see if that works any better. The the capture device include any other capture software?

No, only Ulead. You may have right, that make sense, the PS2 is sending pal 60 signal thats why i have missing fps. I read somwhere that EasyCAP dc60 (the one i have) dont have pal 60 option. EasyCAP dc60+ have it. What i should do now? How i can convert the signal? I tried DScaler software and its a bit better (less lags) but i dont think if any software helps if eascap dont take pal 60.

I have an idea. Maybe i record ps2 on my video vhs and then vhs signal to pc? But what if its pal 60 again...

  13. If you can record PAL60 with the VCR what comes out of the deck will be the same as the PAL60 that went in. So that won't work. Can you force the PS2 to output NTSC and record that?

Ill ask at ps2 forum, but i dont think so. Im using original pal ps2 and games so to convert the signal i have to buy a converter. So i think is better to buy another easycap model with pal 60 option. I guess i got screwed...

  15. Yes, very few capture devices can capture PAL60 correctly.
