I'm struggling to find a way to copy the new Disney movie Little Mermaid 3 / Ariel's beginning. I've so far tried the following:

    A. FairMount -- it takes forever for FairMount to mount the disk and a lot of bad sectors are reported. It then takes even longer to copy the files from the fair mounted disk to the hard drive. The files that get copied in the end are not playable.

    B. RipIt -- the program ran for several hours, resulting in a file that showed a highly distorted film sequence for some 10 seconds, then made the whole DVD player crash.

    C. DVDFab HD decrypter 5.2.3.2 under Darwine -- DVDFab was unable to read the files; when I selected the TS_Files folder of the disc in the Soure dialog, a window popped up titled "Report - Info" with the message "If you think threre is a problem with the IFO files, you can send it to us for analyzing."

    D. AnyDVD under Darwine -- unable to launch AnyDVD with Darwine; the installation seems to run fine but when launching the application I just get the error message "Failed to init ElbyCDIO!".

Are there any other options to be tried? This can't be an impossible task, can it...?

Agrees with terryj. Why not MTR r14m? It worked without a hitch for me when I did that DVD.

DVD Shrink to shrink, movie-only (95% shrink, maybe?)
    ImgBurn to burn

Your original disc may be faulty.

methinks, lawnman, the person wants to do this free or via warez, and not
pay for an app that would do the job.....
