Recently started making this noise when i try to play the origonal diablo. Cant really tell where sound is coming from. Its not very loud unlike the noise a comp made when the power supply went out. Just wondering if anyone has any idea what it is?

HDD bearings make more of a scrape sound. Siren is probably a fan bearing or a cable hitting a fan.

Could be the fan on the video card
    or could be
the video card is overheating and sending a warning sound.

Stick your nose inside the computer to see if the fan on the video card is spinning. May need cleaning.

I'll second the overheating alarm idea. when you play a game is when your video card works the hardest = gets hottest.

Modern computers speed up the fan (cpu, case and gpu) when under load and back off for idle.

  7. It's overheating. Leave the PC plugged into the mains but switch off at the mains socket on the wall (keeps everything earthed). Open up the case and carefully clean out all the dust & fluff from the processor's heatsink, make sure the grills on all the vents in the case aren't clogged up with dust, and make sure that all the fans are spinning smoothly (including the one in the power supply.) If they're not spinning freely then replace with new ones (you can try re-lubricating but it usually only puts off the inevitable for a bit.)

when I had my ati radeon 9800 it was stupid hot and the puny heatsink fan was grossly inadequate. I tore it out and fastened a full size case fan to the heatsink to blast the heat away :P.
